Total 200 is a fully supported double century bike ride. There's a 200 mile and 200 kilometer (125 miles) option. I registered for the 200k a few months ago. The route was a nice loop around the Bay area, mostly flat with some rollings. Check the details here http://www.total200.com/index.cfm.
D-DAY: 5.00 AM - Crossing the Pavillion at Anacostia Park to get my number. |
At the Parking lot |
Last details before the start. |
6.00 am - Start line |
Unshaved as always. Deeply inside there's still a MTBer !! |
Pennsylvania Ave. |
What a view... |
After the 1st Check point I'm looking for a fast group to join in. |
And I find them a few miles later. |
They rotate nicely at the head of the group and (the most important) they fill any gaps. |
Crossing the bridge over the Patuxent River |
Mile 77. Time to have lunch and get some rest. |
Our Peloton hits the road again. One more check point. |
Our last check point. The bad news was the dirt road we had to pass. |
The good news: it was the last check point and the spirit was high. |
The last miles before the finish line |
